You probably saw this over the weekend, but Microsoft has now formally announced its upcoming handheld device, the ROG Xbox Ally.
Made in partnership with Asus, the machine is essentially a handheld PC running Windows, and it will allow you to play your Xbox library natively, via the cloud, or remote play.
What’s more, because it’s using Windows as a base, various PC launchers and storefronts are supported, including Steam and Epic Games Store.
This is rather interesting because it means that, soon, you’ll be able to play Sony’s first-party PC games on an Xbox device.
You’ll be able to boot up your Xbox Ally and play the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and so on.
This isn’t too much of a surprise, but it does mean that a bunch of Sony’s heavy-hitters will soon be Xbox games, in a technical sense.
