There have been some rumors going around this week about WWE Tag Team Champions Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins missing the cut for WrestleMania 41 next weekend (Apr. 19 & 20), and instead defending their belts on SmackDown the night before (Apr. 18).
The latter part of that rumor was confirmed tonight when WWE announced the Street Profits will indeed defend their championship against the Motor City Machine Guns next Friday on SmackDown, on the eve of WrestleMania. It seems like an extreme long shot that these belts will also be defended at WrestleMania 41, but I suppose you never know.
Here is the lineup that WWE is currently advertising for next Friday’s (Apr. 18) special edition of WrestleMania SmackDown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas:
- Street Profits (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE tag team championship
- Zelina Vega, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Chelsea Green, Piper Niven & Alba Fyre
- Andre the Giant Battle Royal
- John Cena returns
What’s your reaction to WWE’s booking decision on the Street Profits? Who do you think will win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
