Vanessa Bryant shares her experience with grief – and some encouraging words for those who may be going through similar emotions.

“Grief is a mess of emotions,” Vanessa, 38, said on her Instagram stories on Friday.

“One day you are laughing and the next day you will not feel alive,” he wrote. “I want to say this for those who are suffering from grief and heartbreaking loss. Find a reason to live your life. I know it’s difficult.”

Vanessa said it was her children who helped explain why: “I look after my daughters and I try to pass that feeling on to them.”

“Death is guaranteed but not the rest of the day,” he said. “Find your reason.”

Vanessa’s husband, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, 41, and his daughter, 13, were killed in a helicopter crash along with seven others on their way to a Guyana basketball tournament. January 26 will mark the anniversary of the accident.

Just a few weeks ago, Vanessa celebrated the family’s first Christmas after the deaths of Kobe and Guyana.

“Always together, never in our hearts,” Vanessa wrote in the title of an Instagram photo featuring the whole family. Vanessa and Kobe have 17 daughters, Ian Bianca, 4, and Capri, 1.

Vanessa recently took her daughters on a ski trip with her friend Sierra, who took her children with 6-year-old Future and 3-year-old Cena.

On the trip, Natalia twisted her finger and wrist, which Vanessa “paid” for making fun of her father.

In August, Vanessa paid an emotional tribute to Kobe, marking her 42nd birthday.

“I miss your big hugs, your kisses, your smiles, your smiles, your sharp ass, deep laughter,” he wrote in a tribute. “I remember you sitting on my lap.” Like you’re an older child. I always think of your kindness and patience. “
