Mansehra: Nadra Khan, head of the Hazara Transgender Association, has demanded the police department to ensure implementation of the law passed by the National Assembly in 2018 for the security of the community.
“Attacks and killings of transgender people have increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the police department in Hazara and the rest of the province must ensure implementation of the transgender protection law to curb such incidents,” Nadra Khan told reporters here. . on Saturday.
He said that Zebullah Khan, a former district police officer of Mansehra, had prepared a code of conduct for the protection of transgender people in the district, which has not been implemented yet. According to the Unified Code of Conduct, the owners of the buildings, where Nadra Khan said that transgender people will live, will install closed circuit cameras.
He said that HIV screening facilities should be provided in Hazara Division. At the same time, I would like to request the members of my community to enroll in the technical colleges of Abbottabad, Mansehra and Hazara University where seats are reserved for them and they can get education. He added. “Transgender protection centers should also be set up initially in every divisional headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
