The Pokémon Company and Honda have revealed a concept motorbike based on Koraidon, the cover star of Pokémon Scarlet version.
The bike is a scale replica of the Pokémon, which can also turn into a motorbike in the video games. It will be on display at Tokyo, Japan’s Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama from March 7 until March 9.
This is the second time the two companies have collaborated on a Pokemon-themed bike. Last year, Toyota produced another motorbike based on Miraidon, the cover star of Pokémon Violet.
Neither bike is fully functional, but the concepts are supposed to replicate the “size and weight” of the Pokémon.
It is currently unknown what will happen to the replicas when the display has concluded, but it is possible that they will be transferred to one of the several Pokémon Center retail stores in the country, many of which feature large statues of Pokémon.
Koraidon and Miraidon are both featured in the latest mainline games in the Pokemon franchise. In a unique twist for the series, they not only appear to the player at the start of the game, but they are also the player’s mode of transport, being used as a bike, a boat, and as a way to climb.
This exhibit is part of a series of month-long events around Japan to celebrate Pokémon Day. On February 27, the series celebrated its 29th year. To mark the occasion, The Pokémon Company held its annual Pokémon Presents stream.
During this broadcast, it confirmed that new episodes of Pokémon Concierge are on the way and also announced a brand new game, Pokémon Champions.
To conclude the broadcast, the company shared new information on this year’s Pokémon game, Pokémon Legends, Z-A. The game, which will be released for Nintendo Switch later this year, still doesn’t have a release date.
