‘The Goldbergs’ pays tribute to George Segal while cast and fans mourn beloved actor

Goldberg Wednesday is dedicated to beloved actor George Siegel, who died in March of complications following heart surgery. After eight seasons on the show, Siegel’s final form appeared as Albert “Pops” Solomon. The event culminated in a series of touching moments over the years.

Siegel co-stars, such as Wendy McLellan Covey, also paid tribute to the Oscar-nominated actor on Twitter. “We’ll love you forever,” McLean Covey tweeted. “You meet in our dreams.”

There was also mourning and widespread acceptance by fans on social media, as emotional tributes touched everyone.

Shortly after the 87-year-old actor’s death in March, the show’s creators made the following statement:

The cast and crew of the show said, “We are devastated by the loss of our dear friend, George, by everyone in Goldberg.” “He was beyond capable, sweet, talented and funny. George was a true reflection of the class and he touched our lives so deeply. It is an honor and privilege to have him as a partner and It was a surprise to none of us who knew him so well that he was a real national treasure. He would miss everyone. POPS, we are your banjo. Play and remember your contagious laughter. Relax.

Goldberg It aired on ABC on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
