ISLAMABAD: The Japanese Embassy here on Monday celebrated the 61st anniversary of the country’s 126th emperor, Naruhito. However, the usual reception was not as a precaution against the corona virus.

He said that since ascending the throne on May 1, 2019, the 126th Emperor of Japan, His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito, has stood as a symbol of unity between Japan and the people. “The majesty and the royal family have facilitated the development of good relations with foreign countries, including Pakistan.” The Ambassador said that Emperor Akihito and his Majesty Emperor Mekiko, who were the parents of the late Emperor Norwich, visited Pakistan in 1962 as the then Crown Prince and Princess.
