RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COOS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Inter-Services Intelligence Headquarters, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the media wing of the army, the army chief was given a comprehensive briefing on the regional and national security situation.
On the occasion, the Army Chief appreciated the tireless efforts of ISI for national security and expressed satisfaction over the professionalism.
The Chief of Army Staff was received by Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Faiz Hamid, the statement said.
About a month ago, General Bajwa had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, which was also attended by DG ISI General Hamid, in a meeting to discuss the internal and external security situation in the country.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, issues related to the external security situation related to India’s aggression in Occupied Kashmir and across the Line of Control (LoC) through ceasefire violations (CFVs) He said it had exceeded 3,000 in 2020 alone.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said, “Concerns have been raised about the continuing human rights violations in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.”
It added that “ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and repeated provocative actions by Indian forces have been discussed.”
