IDAHO FALLS — When Quinn Allgood lost his mother to cancer, he wanted to find a way to honor her memory while helping others facing the same battle.

The Tagg-N-Go Car Wash co-founder’s vision has now evolved into an annual tradition that transforms ordinary car washes into something extraordinary: haunted attractions that raise tens of thousands of dollars for families fighting cancer.

This year, the Scarewash is coming to Idaho Falls for the first time, offering residents a unique twist on traditional Halloween entertainment while supporting a local family whose young son is battling leukemia.

“It’s a big deal for our company,” said Mitch Kunzler, director of marketing for Tagg-N-Go Car Wash. “It’s a way we can uplift our community and those battling with cancer.”

The haunted car wash will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Friday, Oct. 24, at the Idaho Falls location on 3443 First Street. It will continue through Thursday, Oct. 30, but will be closed Sunday, Oct. 26.

Admission is $7 for Tagg-N-Go pass holders and $25 for nonmembers, with all proceeds benefiting local families affected by cancer.

“I think more than anything it’s a really fun thing,” Kunzler said.

Tagg-N-Go is holding the haunted car wash in four separate regions, including Idaho Falls. Each location donates proceeds to a family nominated by community members. The Idaho Falls Scarewash will benefit a family whose son is undergoing treatment for leukemia.

“Last year, his parents noticed things were off, and they took him to the ER,” Kunzler said. “His liver and spleen were enlarged. The treatment plan will last about three years.”

The concept has proven wildly successful since launching in St. George, Utah. Last year alone, the event raised over $25,000, and attendance continues to grow.

“Every year, we see more and more,” Kunzler said. “We’re seeing a lot of cars and a lot of excitement.”

Though this will be Kunzler’s first time experiencing the Scarewash firsthand, the enthusiasm from colleagues has built his anticipation.

“I was talking to a general manager, and he said it’s his favorite thing he does all year,” Kunzler said.

The event embodies Tagg-N-Go’s commitment to community involvement and reflects the company’s core values.

“We go to a lot of community events,” Kunzler said. “In everything we do, we’re going to work hard, but we want to have some aspect of fun.”

Those unable to attend can still contribute by making a donation online at taggngo.com/scarewash.
