ISTANBUL: Hundreds of Turkish students ignored police warnings and marched across Istanbul on Wednesday against the appointment of a loyalist to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as head of a top university.
The second demonstration in three days against Erdogan’s election to Bogazy University presented the Turkish leader with a rare challenge, as he ended dissent after avoiding a coup bid in 2016.
