KARACHI: South Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday won the third and final day of the sixth round match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (Second XI) here.
At KCCA Stadium, South Punjab defeated North by ten wickets. After being forced to follow on, Naderan resumed his second innings 67-2 and scored 192 to give South Punjab a 28-run target which they chased without losing a wicket in 2.5 overs.
League spinner Mohammad Irfan won 6-49 in a 9-89 match. League Ali Usman captured 4-85 for 8-143 match figures. South Punjab won 325-5 in their first innings. In response, Northern 160 was over.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Balochistan by six wickets at the State Bank Ground. KP lost four wickets in the 48th over for 191 runs. Sahibzada Farhan hit 100 fours in 141 balls, 14 fours. Muhammad Mohsin scored 32 runs with the help of 59 fours. He hit four fours. Gohar Faiz, Najibullah and Muhammad Junaid took one wicket each.
Earlier, after taking a 90-run lead, she resumed her second innings at 99-9 and piled up 100 runs in 48.3 overs. Balochistan scored 225 in their first innings. In reply, KP scored 135 runs.
