LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has expressed grief over the destruction of the economy, misery of Pakistanis, skyrocketing inflation and unemployment due to the PTI government.
Talking to a delegation of PML-N parliamentarians here on Friday, he said that the long queues of 1 kg subsidized sugar were a testament to human integrity and respect for the mothers and daughters of the nation.
Members of Parliament from different parts of the country, including former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, called on the party president.
Shahbaz said that a government which could not provide basic necessities like sugar and flour to the people would not be able to cope with the global epidemic. He said he had never seen such chaos in Pakistan during Ramadan. He thanked the parliamentarians for their good wishes and dedicated association. Parliamentarians congratulated him on his release from NAB custody.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Shahbaz congratulated Muftah Ismail on his victory in the NA-249 elections and thanked the people of the constituency for trusting the PML-N. He praised Muftah Ismail’s hard work and said the whole country was witnessing how Muftah’s victory and votes were snatched away. He said that PML-N would raise its voice for the issues of NA-249. He lauded the office bearers of PML-N and the Karachi team for their excellent work. He also thanked the JUI-F and ANP leaders and workers for their support.
