On Tuesday, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Yar Muhammad Rind complained that he was being kept out of important issues and discussions.
Talking to Geo News, Rind complained that despite being a member of the cabinet, he could not meet Prime Minister Imran Khan for some years now.
“When it comes to Senate elections, injustice is being done to Balochistan,” he said, lamenting that the province was not represented on the party’s parliamentary board.
“Who is Sadiq Sanjarani?”
The PTI leader sharply criticized Senate Chairperson Sadiq Sanjarani and questioned his relationship with the PTI. Who is Sadiq Sanjarani? [important decisions]? He asked angrily, “What’s the value of that?” What has he got to do with the PTI? The PTI leader said that Sanjarani’s role in Balochistan is viewed with great dislike.
Sanjrani regretted that he had been meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan for many years, adding that he had never been taken into confidence over the note-taking of anything.
“We are useless compared to Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan,” he complained. “The Senate election will be a nationwide referendum. I can’t say what will happen [during the elections], “They said.
Division within PTI on Senate candidates
After the party decided to reverse the decision to give Senate ticket to Abdul Qadir, signs of internal turmoil appeared in the PTI’s Balochistan chapter.
According to Dawn, Abdul Qadir is a “business tycoon in the construction industry.”
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Communications Shahbaz Gul had said in a tweet that the party had reversed its decision and now Zahoor Agha has been allotted a ticket to Balochistan.
“The captain always listens to his people,” the aide to the prime minister said.
The decision to give Abdul Qadir a Senate ticket was strongly opposed by PTI members.
The regional presidents of PTI Balochistan held a press conference.
Regional president Nawab Khan had said that “the party has issued a ticket to the Senate for a man named Abdul Qadir, who has nothing to do with the party.”
He had said that giving ticket to Abdul Qadir was a violation of party manifesto.
