LAHORE: Master Paints defeated Lieutenant General Shah Rafi Alam Memorial Polo Cup by defeating Diamond Paints / FG Polo 8.5-8 in a thrilling final played at Lahore Polo Club Ground here on Sunday.
Marcos Penelo emerged as the hero of the winning team, with a crippled half-goal advantage. Panelu scored seven goals while Raja Jalal Arsalan had one. Tom Brody scored seven and Mian Abbas Mukhtar scored one from the losing side.
Diamond Paints / FG Polo literally sealed its position as it removed itself from four goals. In the dying moments of the first quarter, Master Paints reduced the margin to 4-1 in return.
The second quarter was equally ready as both teams lost by two goals. Diamond Paints were enjoying a 6-3 lead.
Master Paints turned the tables in the third quarter, scoring four goals in a row against a goal by Diamond Paints to level the score at 7-7.
In the fourth and final quarter, Master Paints took an 8-7 lead in another goal, but Diamond Paints attacked and took advantage of their efforts when they converted a 30-yard penalty to level the score at 8. ۔ .
