LAHORE: Punjab Law and Cooperatives Minister Raja Basharat on Sunday presented grant checks to representatives of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) as well as other bar associations.
A function was held at Punjab House Rawalpindi in this regard and the Law Minister was the chief guest at the function. The Minister presented Rs. 4 lakh for LHCBA, Rs. 4 lakh for District Bar Association Rawalpindi and Rs. 1 lakh each for Tehsil Bar Association of Rawalpindi District.
LHCBA President Sardar Abdul Razzaq, Additional Secretary Roma Qureshi, General Secretary Shahid Shehzad Bhatti, President District Bar Association Rizwan Akhtar Awan, President Tehsil Bar Association Gujar Khan Shahid Shehzad Kayani, President Tehsil Bar Association Murree Jalil Abbasi, President Tehsil Bar Kahuta Raja Tanveer and President Tehsil Bar Association Klar Syedan Adnan Chaudhry received the check and thanked Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and Punjab Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja.
Basharat Raja said that the legal community has always played a key role in restoring democracy, providing justice and upholding the rule of law in the country and the government highly values these efforts. He said that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar was well aware of the plight and concerns of the lawyers and all possible steps would be taken to facilitate them in discharging their professional responsibilities.
He said that funds would also be provided for the lawyers’ hospital which is currently under construction in Rawalpindi.
He promised that a delegation of lawyers would meet Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and space would be allotted for lawyers’ chambers in Rawalpindi.
