Multan: Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Information and Culture MPA Nadeem Qureshi on Monday accused the Chief Secretary Punjab of insulting elected representatives.
Talking to reporters, he rejected the statement of CS against Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and said that the CS had hastily issued a statement against Dr Firdous before conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter. He said that the Supreme Court, while showing irresponsibility, said that if CS wanted to do politics, he should resign and contest the elections.
Nadeem said Dr Firdous was on government duty and had the right to ask the administration about matters. He said that Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sialkot had misbehaved with the public representative and this was highly reprehensible act. The MPA said that humiliation of public representatives would not be tolerated. He said that CS and AC have exceeded their constitutional and legal powers. He demanded the Punjab Chief Minister to immediately remove CS from his office. He said that PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz was trying to provoke the situation against PTI.
