LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar on Sunday inaugurated the Justice Medicine Card at a function held at the Chief Minister’s Office.
The Chief Minister distributed Insaf Medicine Cards among Hepatitis, AIDS and TB patients. Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, SACM Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health, Secretary Information and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
Usman Bazdar said that under the Insaf Medicine Card, a scheme has been launched to provide free medicines to Hepatitis, AIDS and TB patients.
In the first phase of the project, 9,862 AIDS patients, 23,560 hepatitis patients and 70,047 TB patients will be provided free medicines. An easy way has been adopted to facilitate the patients.
Under this procedure, the patient will be biometrically verified with his / her original identity card from the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital or the concerned District Headquarters Hospital. Upon completion of this procedure and the diagnostic process, the patient will be issued a Justice Medicine Card. The patient will be able to get free medicine from the respective center. The Chief Minister further said that the government is moving towards its goal of establishing a state like Madina and projects like Punjab Ehsas Program, Sahat Insaf Card and now Insaf Medicine Card are proof of this fact. The Chief Minister directed to set up separate desks for Hepatitis, AIDS and TB patients. A total of 174,882 patients in 36 districts of Punjab will receive Insaf Medicine Cards. The Chief Minister thanked Allah Almighty for providing him the opportunity to serve the sick humanity. The Chief Minister emphasized that the day is not far when every citizen of Punjab will get free treatment in public sector hospitals, this is our commitment.
