Multan: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said that the PDM should be demonstrated in a democratic manner and the law should not be taken in hand.
He said that the government was taking various steps to control inflation. Talking to media here on Saturday, the foreign minister observed that some people want to get rich overnight and resorted to hoarding and profitable business which has led to inflation. However, he added that the current government is very active against hoarders and profiteers. He said that Pakistan had defeated India diplomatically in the international forum and the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU) were supporting Pakistan’s position on Kashmir. He said that 11 members of the British Parliament had presented their views on Kashmir and Pakistan had been presenting this view for the last two years, but India was not recognizing it. He said that human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir were now being raised by the European Union. He said that this was a great achievement on the diplomatic front of Pakistan.
In response to a question about the PIA plane, he said that the plane was leased, there was a dispute with the owner of the plane, while the case is pending in the court.
He said that India was giving the impression that Kashmir affairs were normal. He said that Kashmiri youth have been abducted and disappeared. He said that atrocities and barbarism were being committed in Kashmir.
In response to another question, he said that there are many reasons for inflation in the country. Stockists are the culprits of the country and the government has taken action against them. He said that PTI was the only party which provided details in foreign funding matters and provided full details to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). PTI raised funds within the legal framework. If the PML-N and the PPP are going to present their accounts before the ECP on January 18, the PTI will present its accounts on January 19.
He said that the Prime Minister and the Army Chief in Quetta assured that the accused involved in the Machh tragedy would be brought to justice. He said that the security situation in Balochistan has significantly improved. He added that the constitution and religion say that minorities must be protected. He said that as Pakistan was rebuilding temples, India should also protect Muslim places of worship. In response to a question about party funds, Qureshi remarked that the PTI had provided full details of the funds to the Election Commission. Replying to another question on the Machh incident, the Foreign Minister said that some powers were trying to weaken Pakistan, adding that India was trying to create unrest in Pakistan by fomenting sectarianism.
The British parliamentarians made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir was not an internal matter of India but a global dispute. India has always tried to give the impression that the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) is normal. Qureshi said that the recent ideology of the British parliamentarians was a success of Pakistan’s diplomatic style.
