On Monday, Senator Faisal Javed Khan, chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting, said that the Supreme Court’s opinion on the presidential reference was a brilliant decision and a victory for Pakistan.
He was talking to the media outside the Supreme Court.
Senator Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan made efforts to eradicate corruption from all levels.
He said that the directive of the opposition leadership was not followed by his own members and the people stayed away from their meetings and rejected them.
The PTI senator’s remarks came shortly after the SC’s statement on Monday that polling for the Senate elections could not be held through open voting.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Election Commission has the power to take all necessary steps to ensure transparency in elections.
