ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belgium on Monday discussed the implications of CWED 19 in the inaugural round of political consultations between the representatives of the two countries.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry tweeted that the two countries would soon boost bilateral trade and investment ties, the meeting decided.
The meeting was virtual.
In a series of tweets, they shared the discussion.
Regional issues, multilateral issues and COVID-19 were some of the topics discussed.
Pakistan praised Belgium’s support for Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative to get rid of debts for developing countries.
Ink van Colster, Belgium’s director general for bilateral affairs, said there was a wide-ranging exchange of views on the effects of the coronavirus, as well as bilateral and EU-Pakistan relations and regional issues.
