Obituary for Nola (Jardine) Sargent


 

 

Nola Sargent, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 20, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Nola was born July 7, 1943, in Rigby, Idaho, to Leonard William Jardine and Eva Mary Neiderer Jardine. She grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. 

On July 14, 1961, she married Roger “Pete” Darrel Sargent in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho. Nola and Pete made their home in Idaho Falls where Nola was a homemaker, cook and food server for Bonneville School District #93.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was always doing something for someone else. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing (she also always caught the biggest fish), knitting, crocheting, gardening, sewing, and crafting. She enjoyed the snowmobile gang and being with her friends. She loved her grandchildren and attended many of their activities. She loved reading books and was in a book club. She loved going to lunch with her friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She and her husband built a cabin by the Buffalo River in Island Park. She loved holidays and family gatherings.  

Nola is survived by her daughter, Tammy (David) Youngstrom of Rigby, ID; son, Trent Sargent of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, LaDel Hatch of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jake (Alicia) Sargent of Rigby, ID; brother, Leonard (Peggy) Jardine of Pocatello, ID; brother, John (Becky) Jardine of Rigby, ID;  17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Eva Jardine; husband, Pete Sargent; and son, Trevor Sargent.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Idaho Falls Parri Ward, 12448 North 5th East. The family will visit with friends from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
