ISLAMABAD: Sixth seed Nasir Iqbal did a short job with Noor Zaman to clinch the title of PSF-KP Satellite Squash Tournament at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex on Sunday.
Nasir won 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 in just 26 minutes and announced his full entry into the top professional squash.
After coming out of the four-year ban, Nasir won all the events that came his way, and Sunday’s tournament was no exception. He dominated the scene throughout the match and eventually won comfortably. Although Noor tried to recover in the second set, he was asking the young man a lot against the quality squash offered by Nasir.
Meanwhile, Faiza Zafar defeated top seed Amna Fayyaz 10-12, 11-6, 11-5, 11-6 in 37 minutes to clinch the women’s title.
Secretary KP Higher Education Commission Dawood Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Former international Amjad Khan, KP Squash Association executive member Sher Bahadur, Wazir Khan, chief referee Sajjad Khalil, tournament organizer Munawar Zaman, coaches, players and a large number of spectators were also present on the occasion.
