On the first day of the new administration – led by Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris – Mandy Kling snapped a picture of her daughter in which Harris was sworn in.
Former United States Senator from California, Harris is the first woman, the first person of black and South Asian descent. The new vice president is the daughter of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father.
Kling, who is Indian, photographed her 3-year-old daughter, Catherine, who was enjoying watching the opening ceremony on TV. Lockdown down The star captioned the photo, “I was at work, but apparently she said: ‘Is she a mother? It looks like a mother.’ I’ve got the best compliment ever! It matters. Congratulations to all. . ”
Killing has long been a supporter of Harris, and he has previously mentioned the historical significance of Harris’ victory. The two even spent some time cooking Indian food together and sat down (practically) to talk about voting until the November presidential election.
Harris himself accepted the nomination for vice president in August 2020 and outlined his chances of making history.
“For the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with desire, guide with conviction, and see yourself in a way that perhaps others Don’t look at you, because they’ve never seen you before, “he said. “And we will appreciate your every move.”
