Mike Tyson to set fight Floyd Mayweather in boxing bombshell

Two of boxing’s greatest competitors will go head-to-head in the ring.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are set to fight in an exhibition match after signing a deal to make it happen, CSI Sports/Fight Sports announced on Thursday.

The fight will happen at some point in the spring of 2026, although the location and date of the match are still being determined, per the outfit’s release.

Mayweather previously fought in a professional match back in August 2017 against Conor McGregor and Tyson fought last November in a Dallas showdown with Jake Paul, which was streamed on Netflix.

“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but, Floyd said yes,” Tyson said in the release. “This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.

“I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

Mayweather didn’t appear too bothered.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

Since the fight is an exhibition match, Mayweather’s 50-0 record won’t be in peril by the bout.

The fighters have gotten up there in age, with Tyson turning 59 in June and potentially stepping into the ring at the age of 60.
