Lahore: According to media reports, markets and shops in Lahore can be closed daily till 6 pm.
However, the Punjab government has not yet made any official statement in this regard.
According to reports, shops are being given closing deadlines as SOPs are not being followed.
Mian Tariq Misbah, president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the government should not make that decision. The bazaars will be busy at 6 pm, he said.
He said that traders are fully prepared to implement SOPs.
Earlier today, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had said that all schools across the country would remain closed till January 10, 2021 in view of the growing coronavirus cases in the country.
A total of 2,756 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 376,929.
