Local animal shelter hosting ‘Fur Ball’ benefit fundraiser

The following is a news release from the Snake River Animal Shelter.

IDAHO FALLS – Fur Ball, Snake River Animal Shelter’s largest and most popular fundraiser, will be held on Saturday, March 8 at the Snake River Event Center at Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls. This year’s theme: “Rock Out with Your Paws Out!”

Animal lovers, rock enthusiasts and anyone looking for a good time are invited to join SRAS for a fun-filled night of food, entertainment and dancing.

“Our annual Fur Ball allows the community to support a great cause while also having a great time! Last year, over 300 people attended, and we anticipate selling out this year, too. We’ll have auctions, permanent and temporary tattoos, a special VIP experience, our beloved Dessert Dash and more. We know everyone will have a great time!” says shelter Executive Director Michelle Ziel-Dingman.

Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a program and dinner starting at 6:30 p.m and dancing to follow.

Costumes are encouraged but not required, and guests are invited to wear their best rock outfit from any decade or genre. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

In 2024, over $100,000 was raised through Fur Ball, and all the proceeds were used to benefit SRAS.

“In 2024, Snake River Animal Shelter took in more than 2,000 pets for sheltering or services, and over 1,300 animals were adopted. We also hired our first full-time veterinarian, restarted our community spay and neuter program, launched a TNR program, provided life-saving medical care to dozens of animals and renovated our dog play yard and cat rooms. Anyone attending Fur Ball can be confident they’re supporting an organization that is 100 percent devoted to helping animals in need!” Sally Solis, the shelter’s development director, says.

The 2025 event will also benefit the animal shelter.
