Nowshera: Former Irrigation Minister Liaquat Khattak on Monday said that he would remain associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and stressed that there is no bloc in the party.
In the recent Nowshera by-election, PTI candidate Mian Omar Kakakhel was sacked after losing 63 PK seats.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that Federal Minister for Defense Pervez Khattak was his elder brother and he respected him. He said that he would vote for PTI candidates in the Senate elections.
Regarding Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Peshawar to meet party MLAs in connection with the Senate elections, he said he was not invited to the meeting.
Liaquat Khattak said he had been a powerless minister because unelected people were running his department. He said he had been under siege for a long time and had conveyed his concerns to the chief minister and wanted to meet the prime minister.
Liaquat Khattak maintained that he is a PTI worker and he has the right to disagree and no one can deprive him of the right to speak his mind. “Imran Khan is my leader and I will abide by any of his orders,” he added.
