MINGORA: On the second day of the Pakistan International Snowboarding Championship and Festival held at Malam Jabba Ski Resort in the natural valley of Swat Valley on Saturday, the men’s and women’s giant Saleem and parallel giant Saleem Sakim competitions attracted tourists.
Commissioner Malakand Division Zaheerul Salam was the chief guest who inaugurated the men’s and women’s giant Saleem and parallel giant Saleem Saleem competitions on the occasion. There are 44 national and international athletes, including four national athletes and fans of snowboarding from European countries, Belgium and France. Afghanistan and Pakistan participated in the program.
Tourists and visitors alike were amazed when the men’s and women’s giant Slim and parallel giant Slilam thrilling competitions showed off their skills on the white ice at the Malam Jabba ski resort.
Foreign tourists said they were proud to be in Pakistan to participate in snowboarding and visit tourist destinations, especially in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that Swat was an amazing valley with its mountainous beauty and gentleness and the plains.
Under the auspices of the Department of Tourism, Sports, Archeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and the Samson Group of Companies jointly organized the event.
In addition to snowboarding games, traditional food and music festivals are also part of the gala for the entertainment of tourists and visitors. Music programs were also held in the evening to entertain tourists and athletes.
The closing ceremony of the International Snowboarding Championships and Festival will be held today. The aim of the championship is to revive the thrilling places of Malam Jabba, Madyan, Bahrain and other places in the valley and attract tourists to these places. Recreational and competitive activities, including standing on a snowboard attached to the rider’s feet and descending a snow-covered slope.
