The Miami Heat acquired guard Norman Powell from the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team trade that also includes the Utah Jazz, the Heat announced Monday.
Los Angeles received forward John Collins in the deal, while forward Kevin Love, forward Kyle Anderson, and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick went to the Jazz.
Powell averaged a career-best 21.8 points with 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals over 32.6 minutes in 60 games during the 2024-25 season. The 10-year veteran moved into a starting role for the Clippers after finishing fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting during the the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns.
The 32-year-old is set to make over $20.4 million next season before being able to test free agency.
Collins, 27, averaged 19.0 points with 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 30.5 minutes while only appearing in 40 games last season because of injuries. He can become a free agent following the 2025-26 campaign, which will see him earn over $26.5 million.
Love, a five-time All-Star, had a limited role with the Heat, averaging 5.3 points with 4.1 rebounds over 10.9 minutes in 23 games last season. The 36-year-old will make $4.15 million in his 18th year in the NBA.
Never thought I’d be a math problem. Welcome to the NBA.

Lastly, Anderson averaged 5.9 points with 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 16.4 minutes off the bench across a combined 61 games for the Heat and Golden State Warriors last season. The 31-year-old is under contract through 2026-27 after signing a three-year, $27-million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves in July 2024.
