ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Hamad Azhar on Tuesday said that the growth target for Pakistan next year will be set at more than 4%.
Azhar, who is also the head of the Ministry of Industry and Production, expressed confidence that Pakistan’s economy would “grow faster than predicted this year”.
The federal minister said the PTI-led government aims to “bring in a solid program to expand the tax net” and would also focus on expanding the scope of the tax system.
He also vowed to continue cracking down on tax evasion, saying the center was “confident in achieving our goals”.
“This year has seen a dramatic increase in revenue,” Azhar said, adding that production would increase based on Pakistan’s stability.
