Haley Joel Osment offers big smile in mugshot after arrest for public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance at California ski resort

Haley Joel Osment was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance at a California ski resort earlier this month, The Post can confirm.

The “Sixth Sense” actor, 37, was taken into custody by police in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. on Apr. 8 after they received a call shortly before 2 p.m. for an allegedly intoxicated person at Mammoth Mountain resort.

Cops arrived to find Osment with ski patrol from the resort. They booked him for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance. Police could not identify the substance and sent it to a lab for testing.

In his mugshot obtained by The Post, the “Pay It Forward” actor offers a big smile for the camera.

Osment was released shortly after his arrest. The decision on whether to prosecute the case now lies with the Mono County, Calif. DA.

TMZ was first to report the news.

The “Blink Twice” actor has “been going through it recently,” according to TMZ’s sources, who noted he lost “everything” in the Altadena wildfire and has since had difficulty with his insurance. After recently finding a “replacement” home, Osment learned his insurer denied his claim, the outlet added.

A rep for Osment did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

The NYU grad has been arrested for a substance-related offense before. In July 2006, Osment was arrested after he overturned his car and hit a mailbox in Los Angeles while intoxicated.

Aged 18 at the time, he fractured a rib and injured his shoulder.

Facing up to 6 months in jail, Osment pled no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 3 years probation, 60 hours of rehab, 6 months of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, plus a $1500 fine.

Speaking with The Post in 2012, the former child star called it a “really, really serious lapse of judgment” and a lesson learned.

This is a developing story.
