Gina Torres appeared in “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” as the widow of the former pilot Dodger of Nebuchadnezzar. A small supporting character, Cass and his two children helped put a face on the population of Zion, the last human city on earth. Cass brought the original “Matrix” trinity to life, while the main characters Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss) and Neo (Kiano Reps) appear to be dying. And yet, Trinity and Neo are back for “The Matrix 4” later this year while Cass is not. In a recent interview with Variety, Torres said she was looking for answers about these looted dead characters.
“Bitter or nothing, but the people who are actually in the movie, I think they’re dead,” Torres said. “And for those who aren’t, that’s all I have to say about it. I’m very interested in where they’re going with this. And what is their jumping off point and what story do they want because it felt like they told it.

Looking back on his involvement with the original “Matrix” trinity, Torres recalls Lawrence Fishburn describing the first installment and his reaction, “Sure, he’s lucky with that.” Torres then visited The Matrix in Sydney and realized how wrong his initial suspicions were after seeing the test footage.
“The Wachovians had a dinner party because they wanted to show off what they were casting. “And what they did together was the beginning of a rescue operation,” Torres said. “It simply came to our notice then [Moss]. It was Hugo [Weaving] Basically telling his men that he was already dead. Kick Carrie-Ann by kicking the big butt and then into the whole bank sequence where they go to save Morpheus and the first time you see the bullet time.
Torres continued, “I’m sitting there and I didn’t even know my mouth was open. It was as if I didn’t know how far my jaw had fallen. And then I don’t think I really had three.” Breathed for a minute. I was like, ‘Oh, you’re doing it all the way here in Sydney.’
Warner Bruce is set to open “The Matrix 4” on December 22, 2021. The film has been included in the release model of the studio’s hybrid theater, meaning it will open in theaters the same day after which it will be available exclusively for streaming on HBO Max. For 31 days
