For transparency, KU will upload student test sheets on the portal from next year

KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) on Sunday announced that it would upload the answer scripts of candidates as well as nurses on the web portal from next year to make the examination marks more transparent.

The announcement was made by UK Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Mahmoud Iraqi.

He also took the entrance test for the evening program of the University of Computer Science and Applied Physics on Sunday. According to an official statement issued by the university, 846 candidates appeared for the entrance test.

Dr. Saima Akhtar, in-charge Directorate of Admissions, said that Karachi University received 1,021 forms for the Bachelor Admission Program 2021 based on the entrance test and 846 candidates appeared for the test. He said that 34 examination rooms of Computer Science and Economics Department were used for the test.

Dr. Saima said that the test started at 11:30 am and ended at 12:20 pm while the preliminary list of successful candidates will be uploaded within 24 hours.

He added that the final list of successful candidates will be available on the official web portal of the university www.uokadmission.edu.pk on January 31, 2021.

Meanwhile, KUK Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmoud Iraqi expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made at the examination centers and waiting areas. He also commended the students, parents and others for strictly following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the federal and provincial governments to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Clock and ward and Directorate of Admissions staff were present to guide candidates and guardians regarding the location of the examination center, while terminal buses were also available at all entrances for the convenience of students and parents.

In addition to the waiting rooms designated for parents and guardians, various examination rooms, University Registrar Prof. Dr. Abdul Waheed, Director Sham Program Prof. Dr. Nabil Zubair, Dr. Saima Akhtar, Prof. Dr. Anila Anbar Malik, Prof. Dr. Nusrat Idrees, Deputy Director Finance Omar Zubair, Student Advisor Dr Syed Asim Ali, Campus Security Advisor Dr Muhammad Moeez Khan, Incharge Transport Dr Qadeer Muhammad Ali, Senior Medical Officer Dr Syed Abid Hassan, Controller Examinations Dr Syed Zafar Hussain and others.

Diagnosis and testing service

Earlier, Dr Saima Akhtar had said that KU had taken the entrance test through its recently established assessment and testing service, which was set up with the approval of the University’s Academic Council.

He said that this testing service is designed to facilitate public and private sectors and will conduct written tests for admission and employment purposes. He added that waiting areas for parents have also been set up near the examination centers, while ambulances were also present during the entrance test in case of any emergency.
