Staying up to date on NFL injury news is of the utmost importance for fantasy football success. The article below tracks all fantasy-relevant players currently listed on their team’s injury report, and provides fantasy managers with actionable recommendations as new information rolls in.
Check back for updates from Tuesday through Saturday.
**UPDATED AS OF WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AT 8 PM ET**
🏈 AFC East
◆ Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen – QB (nose)
Head coach Sean McDermott said QB Josh Allen is “good to go” for Thursday Night Football against the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact: Allen is a top-tier QB1 in fantasy circles for their Week 3 matchup with the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.
◆ Miami Dolphins
Jaylen Waddle – WR (shoulder)
Waddle was limited at Tuesday and Wednesday’s practices and is listed as questionable to play in Week 3 against the Bills.
Fantasy Impact: The Dolphins’ No. 2 wide receiver regularly plays through injury, so we expect him to suit up this week. Waddle has finished as a WR5 and WR2 in two games this season and should pragmatically be treated as a WR2/3 with upside moving forward.
Darren Waller – TE (hip)
Waller has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Bills.
Fantasy Impact: Waller has not yet suited up in 2025, so his absence does not alter the receiving corps’ projections.
Jaylen Wright – RB (knee)
Wright was removed from the injury report and will play Week 3 against the Bills.
Fantasy Impact: Wright was reportedly “real close” to playing in Week 2, so he should be ready to handle rotational duties if called upon in Week 3. Rookie running back Ollie Gordon did little to secure No. 2 duties with Wright sidelined, so Wright can be stashed on benches by running back-needy managers, though he may offer no standalone value.
◆ New England Patriots
The Patriots emerged from their Week 2 win over the Dolphins absent any key injuries.
◆ New York Jets
Justin Fields – QB (concussion)
Fields suffered a concussion late in the team’s Week 2 loss to the Bills. He has already been ruled out for Week 3 against the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Impact: Tyrod Taylor will get the start in Week 3, though he should not be in 12-team lineups in single-quarterback leagues. Breece Hall could handle a large workload with Fields out.
🏈 AFC North
◆ Baltimore Ravens
Isaiah Likely – TE (foot)
Likely has missed the first two games of the season as he tends to a foot injury. His status for Week 3 remains uncertain.
Fantasy Impact: Likely is worth stashing on benches, given tight end Mark Andrews’ poor returns through two games. Andrews theoretically possesses a touchdown-driven ceiling after scoring 11 times in 2024, but the early returns have been less than stellar.
◆ Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow – QB (toe)
Burrow reportedly suffered a Grade III turf toe injury in Week 1. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports surgery is required, which would keep the veteran quarterback out for 3-4 months.
Fantasy Impact: Burrow’s absence leaves the team in the hands of third-year quarterback Jake Browning, who started seven games for the Bengals in 2023. He threw for multiple touchdowns only three times and managed three scores just once in those seven starts, significantly denting the upside of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown. Chase falls to a low-end WR1, Higgins falls to a WR3, and Brown falls to a low-end RB1 for as long as Burrow remains sidelined.
◆ Cleveland Browns
The Browns avoided any major injuries in a Week 2 loss to the Ravens.
◆ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers did not suffer any significant injuries in their Week 2 loss to the Seahawks.
🏈 AFC South
◆ Houston Texans
Joe Mixon – RB (foot)
Mixon was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 1 and will miss the first four weeks of the season, at minimum. He will reportedly be re-evaluated at that time.
Fantasy Impact: Nick Chubb turned back time in Week 2 while handling a growing share of the backfield opportunities with Dameon Pierce ruled a healthy inactive. Chubb finds himself as a volume-driven RB2 for as long as Mixon remains out. Pierce’s inactivity also confirmed that rookie RB Woody Marks has assumed No. 2 duties. He should be stashed on benches where available.
Christian Kirk – WR (hamstring)
Head coach DeMeco Ryans said he expects to get Kirk back for Week 3, and the veteran slot receiver successfully resumed practicing on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Kirk missed the first two games of the season while tending to a hamstring injury. His return could be a big boost to the offense after the team has had little production behind alpha wide receiver Nico Collins. It will be difficult to trust Kirk in fantasy circles in his first game of the season.
Cade Stover – TE (foot)
The Texans placed Stove on injured reserve before Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: Stover will miss at least four games. His absence should add one or two targets to tight end Dalton Schultz’s weekly workload. The uptick is not enough to make Schultz a reliable TE1.
◆ Indianapolis Colts
Tyler Warren – TE (toe)
Warren appeared on Wednesday‘s injury report with a toe injury. He did not practice.
Fantasy Impact: Wednesday absences often become non-issues but details on the injury remain elusive at this time. Fantasy managers should examine the free agent pool for backup plans, just in case he cannot play in Week 3 against the Titans.
Josh Downs – WR (ankle)
Downs did not practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: This is a new injury for Downs, though he notably dealt with two ankle injuries last season. With Warren also ailing, Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce could see increased workloads this weekend.
◆ Jacksonville Jaguars
Brian Thomas Jr. – WR (wrist)
Thomas practiced in full on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Unless Thomas suffers a setback, he will be available for his normal workload this weekend. His rapport with Trevor Lawrence remains a work in progress, keeping Thomas in the borderline WR1/2 range ahead of a Week 3 meeting with the Texans.
Bhayshul Tuten – RB (shoulder)
Tuten was limited at Wednesday’s practice.
Fantasy Impact: Tuten logged 10 touches while operating as Travis Etienne‘s backup last week. As long as he at least remains limited on Thursday and Friday, he should be good to go as a high-upside FLEX option against the Texans in Week 3.
◆ Tennessee Titans
Tyjae Spears – RB (ankle)
Spears remains on injured reserve as he tends to an ankle injury suffered in the team’s first preseason game.
Fantasy Impact: Backfield mate Tony Pollard has seen 19 and 21 running back opportunities in the first two games of the season, keeping him in the back-end RB1 discussion due to heavy volume for as long as Spears remains sidelined.
🏈 AFC West
◆ Denver Broncos
The Broncos did not sustain any fantasy-relevant injuries in their Week 2 loss to the Colts.
◆ Kansas City Chiefs
Xavier Worthy – WR (shoulder)
Worthy was limited on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Typically, a limited session on Wednesday indicates a player will suit up on Sunday. In Worthy’s case, his availability remains up in the air. Once he returns, he will be worthy starting as a WR3/FLEX, but playing through a fully torn labrum in one’s shoulder does not come without re-injury risk.
◆ Las Vegas Raiders
Brock Bowers – TE (knee)
Bowers practiced on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Bowers’ participation level in what was reportedly a “light” practice is currently unknown, but he could be seen wearing a large brace on his left. Although we expect him to play again this week, he is clearly limited by the injury. He remains a TE1, but we would like to see him practice in full for an entire week before returning him to the elite TE1 tier.
◆ Los Angeles Chargers
Ladd McConkey – WR (biceps)
McConkey did not practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: This is a new injury for McConkey, and it is concerning. Hopefully, this is some sort of contusion, rather than a strain. Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston would see an uptick in targets if McConkey were to miss Week 3 against the Broncos.
🏈 NFC East
◆ Dallas Cowboys
KaVontae Turpin – WR (neck)
Turpin was limited on Wednesday after suffering a neck injury in Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: Turpin is really only a deep-league flex option, having totaled six targets and four rushing attempts in two games, but if he were to sit out against the Bears in Week 3, it could result in one or two more targets being thrown to CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson.
◆ New York Giants
Wan’Dale Robinson – WR (foot)
Robinson dealt with an ankle injury last week, but was limited with a foot injury today.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy managers should keep an eye on this one. If he picked up the foot injury during Week 2 play and is already practicing in a limited capacity, this is likely a non-issue. If he suffered the injury during Wednesday’s practice, his Thursday participation is significant. If Robinson were to miss Week 3 against the Chiefs, it could push Darius Slayton (groin/calf) onto the dart-throw FLEX radar, though Slayton’s best days look like they are behind him and he is not guaranteed to suit up.
Cam Skattebo – RB (ankle)
Skattebo practiced in full on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: This is likely a non-issue for the rookie running back. Skattebo seemingly took over the Giants’ starting running back role last week, leading the team with 14 carries. Treat him as a borderline RB2/3 this week, if Tyrone Tracy (calf) suits up.
Tyrone Tracy – RB (calf)
Tracy was limited on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: This is a new injury for Tracy. It was likely suffered in-game, as he was being outplayed by Skattebo. If Tracy is able to play in Week 3 against the Chiefs, he could return PPR FLEX value as they attempt to keep pace on the scoreboard.
◆ Philadelphia Eagles
Will Shipley – RB (oblique)
Shipley’s Week 1 injury has turned into quite the saga. The Eagles acquired running back Tank Bigsby via trade, leading up to Week 2. Reports on Tuesday indicated that Shipley had fractured a rib. The team’s official injury report lists it as an oblique issue. He missed the Eagles’ Week 2 win over the Chiefs and has not yet resumed practicing.
Fantasy Impact: Both Bigsby and running back A.J. Dillon are candidates to replace him in the No. 2 role. Bigsby should be prioritized as a bench stash, though Dillon played ahead of him in Week 2.
Dallas Goedert – TE (knee)
Goedert returned to practice as a limited participant on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Pass play volume has been a problem for Eagles pass catchers in fantasy, but the Rams are capable of pushing the Eagles’ offense into a pass-heavy game script. If Goedert is active, he is worth starting as a TE1.
◆ Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels – QB (knee)
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Daniels will not practice until Friday, at the earliest.
Fantasy Impact: Danies appears to be highly unlikely to face the Raiders in Week 3. Marcus Mariota will start in his stead, which hurts the receiving projections for all involved. Mariota is not a starter in 12-team, single-quarterback leagues.
Austin Ekeler – RB (Achilles)
Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles in the team’s Week 2 loss to the Packers. His season is done.
Fantasy Impact: Ekeler’s absence opens the door for increased usage for rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, although the team is likely to continue with a split backfield moving forward. Consider the talented rookie the best bet to return RB2 numbers the rest of the way.
Jeremy McNichols – RB (hamstring)
McNichols was limited on Wednesday. This is a new injury for the backup running back.
Fantasy Impact: McNichols is considered the favorite, by some, to assume Ekeler’s vacated role, though the journeyman running back was terribly inefficient as a receiver out of the backfield last season. He has failed to earn a target on 17 receiving snaps this season. If he can play this week, he is not a lock to return PPR FLEX value.
🏈 NFC North
◆ Chicago Bears
D’Andre Swift – RB (quad)
Swift was limited by a new quad injury on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: These scenarios typically come down to when the injury was suffered. Unfortunately, it is unknown whether Swift injured the quad during Week 2 play or at Wednesday’s practice. Backup running back Kyle Monangai should be added wherever available, as a precaution.
◆ Detroit Lions
The Lions emerged from their Week 2 win over the Bears absent any major injuries.
◆ Green Bay Packers
Jayden Reed – WR (collarbone/foot)
Reed fractured his collarbone in the Packers’ Week 2 game against the Commanders and was already playing through a Jones fracture in his foot. When news of the expected collarbone surgery broke, the Packers were reportedly hoping to get Reed back in November. Reed then revealed that he underwent surgery to correct his Jones fracture as well. It is unknown whether this will extend his recovery timeline.
Fantasy Impact: Reed can be stashed in injured reserve spots, but he does not need to be held in leagues without them. Tucker Kraft is operating as the team’s No. 1 pass catcher with 10 targets through two games, and Dontayvion Wicks sits two spots behind him with eight. Kraft must be rostered in all leagues. Wicks can be added as a potential FLEX starter.
Josh Jacobs – RB (ankle)
Jacobs was limited on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Jacobs intermittently played through injuries with little issue in 2024. Unless a report breaks, suggesting this is a severe sprain, Jacobs can be treated as a locked-in RB1.
◆ Minnesota Vikings
J.J. McCarthy – QB (ankle)
McCarthy sustained a high-ankle sprain in the team’s Week 2 loss to the Falcons. The team is preparing to be without the young signal caller for 2-4 weeks.
Fantasy Impact: Some believe Carson Wentz‘s presence as the fill-in starter could benefit Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, and Jordan Mason, considering the struggles of the offense to start the season with McCarthy under center. This outcome is far from guaranteed. Expect Mason to handle a significant rushing workload with McCarthy and Aaron Jones, detailed below, sidelined.
Aaron Jones – RB (hamstring)
The Vikings placed Jones on injured reserve. He will be eligible to return after missing four games in Week 8. The Vikings are on bye in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact: Jordan Mason should see the bulk of the opportunities out of the Minnesota backfield while Jones is sidelined, vaulting him into the RB1 discussion ahead of a matchup with the Bengals. Cam Akers was recently signed. He will compete with Zavier Scott for backup duties behind Mason.
🏈 NFC South
◆ Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons did not experience any many injuries in their Week 2 win over the Vikings.
◆ Carolina Panthers
Xavier Legette – WR (hamstring)
Legette experienced hamstring soreness after going through individual drills on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Legette does not need to be rostered in 12-team leagues, given his poor play quality. The hamstring injury only solidifies his status as being droppable.
◆ New Orleans Saints
The Saints did not experience any fantasy relevant injuries in their Week 2 loss to the 49ers.
◆ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jalen McMillan – WR (neck)
McMillan remains on injured reserve with a neck injury suffered in the preseason.
Fantasy Impact: McMillan’s absence paved the way for rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka to see featured usage in the offense right out of the gate. The talented rookie remains in the weekly WR2 discussion after scoring three touchdowns in his first two professional games.
Emeka Egbuka – WR (hip/groin)
Egbuka did not practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: The talented rookie was already pushing for weekly WR2 rankings before the injury. If he plays through the pain in Week 3 against the Jets, he can be treated as a high-upside WR3. Sterling Shepard is behind him on the depth chart, though he would only be a dart-throw FLEX if Egbuka is sidelined.
Baker Mayfield – QB (foot/toe)
Mayfield practiced in full on Wednesday after suffering a foot/toe injury in Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy managers should fully expect Mayfield to suit up against the Jets in Week 3. He is a back-end QB1.
🏈 NFC West
◆ Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals were not subject to any substantial injuries in their Week 2 win over the Panthers.
◆ Los Angeles Rams
The Rams emerged from their Week 2 win over the Titans absent any fantasy-relevant injuries.
◆ San Francisco 49ers
George Kittle – TE (hamstring)
The 49ers placed Kittle on injured reserve Tuesday, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.
Fantasy impact: The 49ers are dealing with multiple key injuries. It is difficult to make up for Kittle’s lost production with any remaining 49ers tight end, meaning fantasy managers will want to look elsewhere until Kittle returns. Running back Christian McCaffrey and wide receiver Jauan Jennings stand to benefit in what has become a decimated skill position group.
Brock Purdy – QB (shoulder, toe)
Purdy was limited on Wednesday and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy could possibly serve as the team’s backup quarterback in Week 3 against the Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact: Backup quarterback Mac Jones is not a starter in 12-team leagues, but he is certainly worth adding in two-quarterback formats, and is capable of keeping San Francisco’s pass catchers afloat. Purdy being active for Week 3 seems highly unlikely.
Jauan Jennings – WR (ankle/shoulder)
Jennings played through a shoulder injury last week and picked up an ankle injury along the way. He did not practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Jennings typically plays through the pain, and can be expected to do so again this week against the Cardinals. He’s a WR3.
◆ Seattle Seahawks
Zach Charbonnet – RB (foot)
Charbonnet evidently picked up a foot injury in Week 2 against the Steelers. He did not practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Seahawks starting running back Kenneth Walker III has totaled 14 combined carries and targets in each of Seattle’s first two games. If Charbonnet were to miss Week 3 against the Saints, Walker would have little issue totaling 20 touches or more.
