Launches the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 version
An Elena teaser trailer for Street Fighter 6 was revealed finally after months of waiting as well as her release date.
Elena’s healing mechanic has been the subject of much discussion and controversy since this character was first introduced, but the developers of Street Fighter 6 said they’re very aware of this move and it’s potential impact to the game.
Elena is set to be coming out a lot later than many player probably expected.
Capcom revealed the dancing healer will launch on June 5, which is the same day the Street Fighter 6 Nintendo Switch 2 version releases as well as the SF6 Year 1 + 2 package.
This likely means Street Fighter 6 will still be running on the Season 2 version of the game for the first two stops on the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 with Evo Japan 2025 and Combo Breaker 2025 both going down in May.
As could be expected from the previous teasers, this new trailer is Elena’s introduction cutscene to the World Tour mode in SF6.
This does finally provide our first in-game look at Elena to see her character model in motion, even if it’s not in gameplay yet.
Capcom does say that her official gameplay trailer is “coming soon.”
“During Ultra Street Fighter 4, I saw a tournament which had Rose, Yun and Elena and the matches became extremely long, we’re very aware of this in our development, so please don’t worry about Healing,” Nakayama said last year.
Elena will serve as the final piece of major Season 2 content when she releases this Spring following M. Bison along with Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui.
The Capoeira fighter out of Kenya first appeared in the 1997 release of Street Fighter 3: New Generation, afterwards we saw Elena as a playable character in July of 2012 when she was added as a DLC character to Street Fighter X Tekken.
Elena would later be added to Ultra Street Fighter 4 in June of 2014 on consoles, joining Rolento, Hugo and Poison, all being converted along with a handful of stages from Street Fighter X Tekken.
She comes sporting a bit of a new look for Street Fighter 6, considering she’s actually wearing some pants this time around as well as a new haircut and long scarf that’ll certainly flow in her animations.
