The black-and-white kitty was used as a drug mule and loaded up with over 230 grams of marijuana and 67 grams of crack cocaine that was meant for prisoners of the Pococi prison, Costa Rica’s justice ministry said in a statement posted to Facebook.

“Thanks to the quick actions of acting officers, the cat was able to be caught… thus preventing them from reaching their final destination,” the ministry said in the statement.

Video showed prison guards climbing a fence to corral the felonious feline which appeared to be stymied in its smuggling route by strips of razor wire.

The cat courier had two separate packages of drugs tapped down to its sides with plastic wrap, one filled with nearly one ounce of marijuana and the other containing “crack paste,” the ministry said.

Prison guards carefully snipped the illicit rucksack off of the cat with scissors — with the mouser stretching out in appreciation of being delivered from the narcotic-filled nappy.

The cat was handed over the National Animal Health Service for evaluation, CBS reported.
