ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A dead body was reported near Disney World on Tuesday evening, according to data from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The call data shows the sheriff’s office received the report about the dead body around 6:40 p.m. along North World Drive, which begins just south of US-192 and runs past Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort and Wilderness Lodge.
Social media users on Reddit discussed the incident in a thread shortly after the call went out, claiming that the death had impacted guests at the resort.
The sheriff’s office later told News 6 that the incident is an apparent suicide.
Meanwhile, News 6 has reached out to Orange County Fire Rescue, Disney officials and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District for more information and is awaiting a response.
