Kristen Bell got a rude awakening from her own daughters after they learned she once broke up with their father, Dax Shepard — and they didn’t hold back.
On Tuesday, November 25, the couple stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote Netflix now streaming their 2012 film Hit and Run. During their appearance, Bell and Dax Shepard explained that their girls, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10, recently watched the movie, which is loosely based on the early days of the couple’s relationship.
According to Bell, their kids loved the early scenes showing their parents’ characters during the puppy love phase and where they “started to trust each other.” But when the couple’s breakup scene arrived, everything changed.

“They were very upset,” Shepard shared. “And what made me happy is they were mad at mom, not me.”
“They thought mom was a b***h,” he joked. “They thought dad was a good boy with a bad past and she should be able to overlook that and I agree.”
Despite the blow to the Nobody Wants This star’s reputation at home, the girls ended up “loving the movie,” he added.
The duo met in 2007 and married in 2013.
