Dasha Nekrasova Fired By Gersh Over Nick Fuentes Podcast Interview

Dasha Nekrasova, an actress known for her work in projects like HBO’s Succession and A24’s Materialists, has been fired by Gersh over a recent podcast interview with far-right political commentator Nick Fuentes, Deadline has confirmed with a spokesperson for the agency.

While recently announced via Deadline as being cast in Iconoclast, a thriller marking the directorial debut of The Night Agent‘s Gabriel Basso, Nekravosa has also just had her contract for the film pulled before it was signed, we’re told, over the same podcast. While the Fuentes podcast was published on YouTube a month ago, it only began making its way around Hollywood in the last couple of days, triggering immediate reactions to disavow comments deemed deeply problematic.

Deadline has reached out to Nekrasova and her attorney, Mark A. Gochman, for comment and will update if and when a statement from the actress is issued.

Posted on YouTube a month ago, the interview in question took place as part of Red Scare, a cultural commentary podcast that Nekrasova has hosted with Anna Khachiyan since 2018. The video, titled “Fuentanyl OD – Nick Fuentes x Red Scare (Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan),” is over two and a half hours long. Given what Nekrasova labels in text under the video as “technical problems,” the interview is essentially audio only, jumping repeatedly back and forth between a few images of Nekrasova, Khachiyan, and Fuentes together.

The conversation, which has been viewed 220K times to date, touches on many controversial topics. The trio discusses “international jewery” on multiple occasions, perpetuating offensive stereotypes about Jews as well as Italians, Asians and others, along with eyebrow-raising comments about the Holocaust and immigrants from developing countries, especially non-white ones.

Nekrasova and Khachiyan’s interview subject, Fuentes, is widely considered the leader of the “Groypers,” a movement of young right-wing activists with an “America First” ideology who take issue with mainstream conservatism and advocates more extreme positions. Notably, Fuentes is considered more extreme in his views than Charlie Kirk, the Trump-allied media personality assassinated on September 10 while speaking at a Utah debate event, who was himself controversial given his approach to everything from immigration and race to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and Covid-19.

Per CNN, Fuentes is a “well-known White nationalist and Holocaust denier,” for starters. Publicly, the livestreamer has described himself as a Christian nationalist, espousing anti-LGBTQ, anti-feminist, misogynist views while calling out Kirk’s conservative organization, Turning Point USA, for not taking enough of a hard line.
