DUBAI: Thirteen militants were killed in an exchange of artillery fire between pro-government forces and separatists in the southern province of Abyan, military sources told AFP on Saturday.
A STC source said the Southern Transitional Council had killed eight people, including two officials and six others, late Friday in the latest incident of violence between nominees in Yemen’s civil war. Wounded.
A military source close to the Yemeni government said five of its fighters were among those killed.
The STC is a separatist organization that seeks to secede from the rest of the southern country, despite allying with the central government in the fight against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in the civil war in southern Yemen.
