Chicago Bears provide important weather and safety updates for Sunday’s matchup vs. Cleveland Browns

With frigid weather conditions expected across Chicagoland this weekend and around game time, the Chicago Bears are advising fans to plan ahead for Sunday’s home game against the Cleveland Browns at Soldier Field on Dec. 14. Forecasts call for frigid temperatures potentially dropping below zero.

Working closely with the Chicago Park District, the Chicago Bears are implementing enhanced game day measures designed to prioritize fan safety while preserving an exciting game day experience.

Fan Safety & Comfort Measures

To help fans stay warm and safe throughout the game:

  • Warming Centers will be located at Loop Landing (behind Section 146), on the Service Level down the southwest tunnel near the Dr Pepper Patio and NW colonnade (situated on the tiled landing at the top of the stairs by Gate 31).
  • Battery-operated clothing is permitted; may be subject to additional security screening.
  • Fans may NOT bring in cardboard to sit or stand on.
  • Cold-weather dehydration is possible; fans are encouraged to drink water throughout the game.
  • Hot chocolate, cider and coffee will be available throughout the stadium and via in-seat vendors, with chili offered at select stands.
  • Hand warmers will be available for purchase at any Bears Pro Shop location inside the stadium.

Fans with additional questions are encouraged to use the Gameday Concierge feature in the Chicago Bears Official App, brought to you by Verizon, while at Soldier Field on Sunday. The Gameday Concierge includes tools to help locate warm beverages and other amenities throughout the stadium. Guests are advised to download the app before arriving to ensure it’s ready when needed.

Tailgating & Lot Policies

With cold weather in the forecast, fans are reminded of the following Soldier Field tailgating policies:

  • Grills and heaters that use liquefied fuels are prohibited in enclosed parking garages and the lower level of the Waldron Deck (allowed in open air surface lots).
  • Firepits/open fires are NOT allowed in ANY parking lots.
  • Deep fryers or any oil-based cooking or frying are prohibited.
  • Tents and/or canopies are prohibited.
  • No open flame, infrared panel or propane heaters of any type allowed in ANY lot.
  • Propane tanks larger than 19lbs. are NOT allowed on campus.
