Although Charlie Cox has Daredevil fans worried that the Disney+ revival could be short-lived, his co-star is clarifying the apparent misunderstanding.
The Daredevil: Born Again star recently called the upcoming sophomore season, which is set to premiere in March 2026, the “final season,” despite Vincent D’Onofrio claiming there’s “good chance” for a Season 3 renewal.
“I know that there have been leaked set photos. So, the one that we just finished with in Season 2 of Born Again, I think is my favorite, for a couple of reasons,” Cox explained at GalaxyCon. “One, because it is bad-ass, but also because every suit that we’ve had so far, in some way, is represented in the comics.”
Cox added, “But there’s a particular, something that we do in this final season, that doesn’t exist in the comics. So, it is unique to our show.”
When tagged by a fan asking for clarity, D’Onofrio responded on X, “Good chance there will be a third.”
D’Onofrio noted, “It’s just too early to tell. But it’s very likely,” adding in another post, “I believe Charlie meant the last season we actually shot meaning the second season. Yet he used the term final season so its a bit confusing. But Charlie and I have discussed and we both agree there’s a very good chance for a third season.”
Following the Season 1 finale in April, showrunner Dario Scardapene revealed that Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere in March 2026.
“It’s all led up to this… Such a mix of emotions as we close out S1,” wrote Scardapene on Instagram. “So grateful for the cast, crew and studio for their confidence and indulgence. Biggest of thanks to Sana, Brad, Kevin, Lou, Aaron, Justin, Charlie, Vincent, Deb, Jon and the whole mad circus. And yeah, Season 2 March 2026.”
Cox previously starred in Netflix‘s Daredevil for its three-season run from 2015 to 2018, also playing the Marvel hero in the spin-off The Defenders (2017), as well as the 2022 Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
