It must be nice to be a nepo kid. On Tuesday night, Channing Tatum appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba — The Movie: Infinity Castle, posing with his 12-year-old daughter, Everly, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.
Unlike most tweens who have to attend a parent’s work event, Everly seemed to be having the time of her life. She wore a blue floor-length, ruffled gown and loose curls, and her dad wore a slouchy navy suit that I’ll accept as a light effort at coordinating looks. The father-daughter duo were photographed smiling at each other on the carpet, and Tatum told People he racked up some “cool-dad points” by voicing the character Keizo in the film, which hits theaters on Friday.
I believe him considering how happy Everly looked when she accompanied her dad to a different installment of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba last year. (Tatum does not appear to have voiced a character in that movie, but he was at the premiere.) Everly went all out for that occasion, wearing a wig and a full Shinobu Kocho ensemble, and her father wore a green-and-black checked sweatshirt to match a character from the film. I love that they share this red-carpet tradition together. It’s just like when I visited my dad’s office to help sort files, but also not at all.
