ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) of the Planning Commission on Monday approved six projects worth an estimated Rs 69.33 billion, out of which 17 were approved. Two billion-rupee projects are included to provide health care to fight the epidemic. A CDWP meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan on Monday approved four development projects with a total estimated cost of Rs 25 billion and Rs 44.33 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The meeting was also attended by senior officials of Planning Commission and Federal Ministries / Divisions while representatives of provincial governments participated through video conferencing. Plans related to health and transport and communication were presented at the meeting.
Three health projects worth Rs. 17 billion, including two COVIDs, were presented at the meeting. Under the first project, “Khyber Institute of Children’s Health and Children’s Hospital, Peshawar District” was presented at a cost of Rs. 7995.334 million, while the second project, called “DHQ Hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (COID 19) and Ability to respond to future epidemics) is priced at Rs. 333343. 423 million and the last health project was proposed to be a 500-bed Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College District Bahawalnagar, the value of which was approved by the CWDP meeting.
Three transport and communication projects worth Rs 52.29 billion were presented at the meeting. ECNEC has been approved for the first project titled Procurement 600 Flat Container Boogie Wagon worth Rs. Million which was sent to ECNEC for further approval.
The project estimates the construction of a 168 km long road from Awaran to Nal, with a width of 7.3 m on both sides and 2.5 m on the shoulders. Project Road starts from Awaran and passes through different cities. The second project presented at the meeting, which was approved at the meeting of “Double and Improvement of Sohawa – Chakwal Road Project – Third Review” at a cost of Rs. 7980.475 million. The project envisages the construction of an additional road up to 7.3m wide and 7.3m wide in the existing 66.405 km long single carryway.
CDWP approves concept.75..73 million worth of “Power Distribution Performance Improvement Project”, another concept of which is clearance, “Airport Security Force and China Civil Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) International provides equipment and staff training to China. 3272.509 million and the last one is “Rehabilitation / Upgradation of Rawal Lake Treatment Project, Old Transmission Pipes and Water Testing Laboratory which has CDWP approved equipment.
