According to Nelson, the half-hour swearing-in ceremony was watched by approximately 39.87 million people at the country’s six major TV news outlets, compared to 38.35 million viewers in the 2017 program. The 2021 figure represents an increase of about 4% over its predecessor.
CNN’s coverage reached an average of 9.9 million people in half an hour, thanks to this pack. The AT&T-backed Cable News Network said the numbers represent the largest audience in history for the inaugural program in its history.
ABC News coverage attracts the second largest audience, with an average of 7.66 million, followed by NBC News with 6.89 million. MSNBC, with approximately 6 6.53 million. CBS News, with approximately 6 6.07 million. And the Fox News Channel, with 2.74 million.
These numbers are preliminary and may change after Nelson’s extensive configuration of viewing resources.
The rankings indicate more than just interesting interest in a new Commander-in-Chief after the turbulent United States. CNN’s inaugural audience grew, jumping from just ڈالر 3.375 million in 2017 to over 196%. Meanwhile, Fox News Channel’s event audience fell to a total of 11.76 million in 2017 – a loss of about 77 percent. As CNN did in 2021, Fox News set a record for a one-day opening audience in 2017.
Similar trends were shown in the wider coverage. About 29 29.45 million people connected to the six networks between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday, up from 27.08 million in 2017 – an increase of about 9 percent.
In 2021, CNN’s coverage gained the most viewers, averaging 7.74 million, followed by ABC News at 5.37 million and MSNBC at 5.33 million.
Fox News coverage dominated that day in 2017, winning an average of 8.77 million, while MSNBC’s coverage attracted an average of about 1. 1.38 million, at least 1.1 million. In 2017, CNN coverage averaged 2.61 million.
