Stacey Abrams emerged as a real-life hero in 2020 through her tireless efforts to increase access to the ballot box in Georgia and her successful involvement in television. When Abram revealed that he was a fan of such shows, social media lost its collective mind. Buffet the vampire slayer And Supernatural, And the list doesn’t stop there. Talking to Yahoo Entertainment, Upcoming Beat Woman Star Javisia Leslie has revealed that Abrams is also a big time bat fan. “She’s been very supportive,” says the actress, who has been in charge of Cape and Cow in Season 2 since Ruby Rose. “Then shout to Stacey Abrams! I think she’s going to love this season and I hope we’re proud of her. (Watch our video interview above.)

But why should Abram watch the show when she could? On Program? Leslie agrees that Abrams should go to Gautam City during the second season, which will premiere on January 17 at 8 pm on CW. Gears, before switching to another better pitch, she says, “Let’s make him a hero.” “What do you think about it? Let’s present it as an anti-hero! It’s going to be fun. A super villain: I think we should go through the humor and find a lap that we want to bring to Gautam.” And go ahead and be according to it, and don’t even show that it belongs to him! Before we take off the mask and see that it belongs to him.

Casting a real-world political figure as a comic book super villain will ensure the history of television. But it’s the equivalent of a course in a show that is already making history. Leslie is not only going to be the first Black Beat Woman on television, but also the first color actress to wear a cape and gown in any live action itineration of the franchise. Thus, she is a trail blazer like Nicholas Nicholas, who broke through the bridge like a black woman. USS Enterprise in fact Star Trek. “It’s an honor,” says Leslie. “I grew up watching Batman – it was a big part of my childhood. I never thought of a man of color wearing a suit. Let me wear a suit. I just hope that in this amazing franchise. That door is open to even greater diversity.

And the authors are definitely inclined towards the specific identity of the new Beat Woman. After the disappearance of Rose Kate Kane, Leslie’s Ryan Wilder takes possession of Batsmith and all his belongings – including a close relationship with Gautam’s elite law enforcement agency, the Cowboys. The black scene, which is the face of an aggressive police force, is gaining new dramatic weight in the wake of last summer’s Black Lives case protests and the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of Briona Taylor. “Every time you look at the police situation, there’s a moment where citizens have to check on them, and they have to be held accountable,” Leslie said. “Part of Ryan’s journey is to show that Crow has not been held responsible for a lot of his actions. I like that he is addressing him this season.

Just like the presence of Nicholas Star Trek Encouraged by several generations of young women (including Hopi Goldberg), Leslie knows she will see a new generation. Beat Woman Like Touchstone, she says, “I want them to see for themselves.” I think it’s important to finally look at a screen and see someone wearing something that changes the texture of your hair, the color of your skin, You can see your body type. I wish I could see more colorful women playing the role of superheroes when I was younger. For the record, Leslie has a favorite female-led superhero film from her younger years: Halle Berry’s Extreme Disorder. Kate Woman. “I saw her as a teenager, and I loved her,” she said. “I thought she was sexy, she was hot, she was beating from behind. I feel like he did an amazing job.

Even when Abrams, and many others, are rooting for a long and successful crime-fighting career from the new Beat Woman, there are online trolls who would love to fail – the same mob. Which targeted the first films like 2016. Ghost Busters Run again to take steps to diversify existing franchises. “I think they need to work on themselves, to get such negative energy into something that they haven’t even allowed to exist yet,” says Leslie. “I think people are going through a lot of pain, and they don’t know how to express themselves. I would like to get rid of it completely, but it will not happen because we live in a society where managing pain is a very difficult task to implement. Until we actually find it in our own country, we can’t expect people to find it at home. He spoke like a true hero.

Beat Woman Season 2 premieres Sunday, January 17 at 8 p.m. on CW.
