Authorities release additional details about two-vehicle crash in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS – Idaho State Police are still searching for a suspect with a felony warrant following a late night high-speed chase in Idaho Falls that ended in a crash.

That’s the latest on the investigation of the two-vehicle crash on Yellowstone Highway and Pancheri Drive around 10 p.m. Friday.

In a news release Saturday afternoon, ISP report the unnamed suspect led them on a high speed chase after a failed traffic stop.

After multiple attempts to stop the driver with spike strips, a trooper collided with a separate vehicle on the road.

ISP say both drivers had minor injuries. The trooper was treated and released on scene and the other driver, whose identity also was not released, was evaluated at a local hospital.

The search for the suspect continues.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation on the crash and all questions about the case should be directed there.

Meanwhile, ISP is grateful there were no other injuries or damage to property.

“ISP is thankful that the crash and injuries appear non-life-threatening and that no bystanders were harmed. Consistent with agency procedures following any pursuit and crash involving a trooper, ISP will conduct a full internal review of the incident,” the news release says.

Additional details will be provided as they become available.
