Montevideo, Uruguay: The outbreak of Covid 19 incidents in the Uruguay squad is raising alarm bells as captain Diego Gooden became the 16th member to test positive for the virus since returning to his club on Friday.

The country’s Ministry of Health has asked the Uruguayan Football Federation to pay 15,000,000 (12,650) to the national team for “disrespecting health protocols” after the national team contracted illnesses after assembling for two World Cup qualifiers. Euro).

They are furious after the positive experience of two Atletico Madrid players, including Luis Suarez. The striker missed Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brazil.

Suarez, along with Lucas Torrera, is also unavailable for Saturday’s game against his former club Barcelona.

Atletico President Enrique Cerizo has criticized the Uruguayan Federation’s softening of measures.

“They have not been tested,” he told Cadina Tour Radio on Thursday. In Spain, “players do not shower. We monitor them before and after matches and training.

According to Spanish media, La Liga intends to lodge a complaint with FIFA.

“I’m sorry we’re being victimized by witches. “We are careful, but we are not untouchables,” said Uruguay assistant coach Celso Otto.

Health Minister Daniel Selinas was upset by a picture posted on Twitter on Saturday showing nine athletes gathered around a barbecue. Five of them have tested positive.

“There is a certain lack of concern,” the minister told reporters.

Defender Matthias Veena was the first player to test positive after Colombia’s 3-0 win. He plays for the Brazilian club Pamirs, which has reported 17 cases of corona virus.
