American Music Awards 2025: Winners List (Updating Live)

The 2025 American Music Awards are underway and the winners are being announced live.

After dozens of A-listers walked the purple carpet, host Jennifer Lopez opened the Monday night show with a fierce performance, dancing to some of the biggest hits from this past year, 23 songs in six minutes to be exact.

“Tonight, the spotlight belongs to you because this is the world’s largest fan voting award show where you decide the winners,” Lopez told the crowd during her monologue after the performance. “And this year, yes, there were more votes than ever before.”

Some of the night’s winners included Billie Eilish for artist of the year, SZA for favorite R&B song for “Saturn” and favorite female R&B artist, Eminem for favorite male hip-hop artist, Becky G for favorite female Latin artist and Gracie Abrams for best new artist.

Janet Jackson, who received the Icon Award, also showed the audience how much of an icon she really is, performing a medley of some of her biggest hits throughout her career, including “Someone to Call My Lover” and “All for You.”

“I’m so grateful. I mean, no disrespect in any way, but I don’t consider myself an icon. My family, myself, our dream wasn’t ever to be famous; we weren’t raised like that,” Jackson said during her speech following her performance. “We always had a special love for music, dancing and singing, and fame came with the result of hard work and dedication.”

Rod Stewart later received the Lifetime Achievement Award. “The reason I got into it was because I had this burning ambition to sing. It’s all I wanted to do. I didn’t want to be rich or famous, and here I am a few years later, picking up this wonderful award. Thank you so much,” he told the crowd during his acceptance speech. He then performed his hit song “Forever Young.”

Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Gloria Estefan, Gwen Stefani, Lainey Wilson, Alex Warren and Reneé Rapp also took to the AMAs stage throughout the show for electric performances of some of their biggest hits. Alix Earle, Cara Delevingne, Ciara, Dan + Shay, Dylan Efron, Jordan Chiles, Kai Cenat, Megan Moroney, Nikki Glaser, Shaboozey, Tiffany Haddish and Wayne Brady were also among the night’s presenters.

Heading into the ceremony, Kendrick Lamar led the nominees with 10, with Post Malone following with eight nods, and Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shaboozey with seven AMA nominations each. Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, SZA and Taylor Swift also each earned six nominations.

Since the awards show also lined up with Memorial Day, several performers, presenters and winners also took a moment during their respective performances and speeches to honor veterans and service members.

The 2025 AMAs, which are voted entirely by fans, aired live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 26.

The American Music Awards was created by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Corporation, The Hollywood Reporter‘s parent company, in a subsidiary joint venture between Penske Media and Eldridge.
