Warzone’s original map, Verdansk, looks and feels just like fans remember in Season 3, but a few distinct gameplay changes are set to overhaul the battle royale’s meta.
While developing the Verdansk remake, Beenox, High Moon Studios, and Raven Software remained faithful to the original design but also used modern technology to give the map a much-needed visual overhaul.
This includes new textures and visuals, like better lighting in dark buildings, a higher-resolution sky, improved reflections, and accurate lighting between interior and exterior locations.
However, remaining faithful didn’t stop the devs from making quality-of-life changes, such as adding objects between POIs to provide cover for players in open areas, and there are also some more significant gameplay changes.
Every gameplay change in Verdansk remake

The first change players will notice on Verdansk is the return of floating loot. Like the original map, ground loot from chests and loot dropped by enemies will float in the air, making it easier to find what you want and quicker to pick it up.
It wouldn’t be Verdansk without the original meta weapons, so the CR-56 AMAX, HDR, Kali Sticks, and Kilo 141 are all returning in Season 3.
An updated movement system will be specifically tuned for Warzone. Omnimovement isn’t going away, but Raven game director Pete Actipis explained, “We want to ensure that movement feels right in Warzone, so the bespoke changes and simplified movement improve upon the original experience.”
The devs wouldn’t go into precise details, yet players should expect the movement to feel closer to how it did on the original map.
The original Contracts, including Recon, Scavenger, Bounty, Most Wanted, and Supply Run, are back in the Verdansk remake.
Raven Software listened to community feedback, so there won’t be Redeploy Balloons. Instead, Verdansk features the Cargo Truck, ATV, Tac Rover, and classic helicopter with improved driving mechanics.
That’s everything we know for now. In the meantime, check out how to unlock the Kilo 141 in Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
